PETER Tennent, Jonathan Young, Neil Volzke, Dan Carter and Ross Dunlop, packing down before the great mayoral goal-kicking competition atYarrows Stadium recently. When the All Blacks came to Taranaki recently, the mayors of the region had a competition of their own, under the eye of Dan Carter. Dan gave them a penalty demo and some advice (most of which was wasted) and then they had a kicking competition. The STDC and Stratford mayors were eliminated in the first round because they failed to get the ball over the bar! Pete Tennent and Jonathan Young made the final – both scored their kicks and then they did rock paper scissors to decide the winner. Jonathon Young came out the winner.
