The Club Championships start on August 7.
Ladies Golf
WE have always been led to believe Friday 13th is not a good day, but we now have Tuesday 13th; last week was not a good day for three of our ladies.
First, we had the lady who felt the need to sit waist deep in a drain of frozen water to recover her wayward ball after the ground beneath her feet gave way: another felt unwell and ended up in hospital and a third lady, Doreen, unfortunately broke her ankle and also ended up in hospital.

Our sincere thanks to Brian Davies who was on course and drove Doreen back to the clubhouse to meet the ambulance. We wish Doreen well in her recovery.
This accident has been a reminder to all members for the need to carry a cell phone (and glasses) with them on the course in case of an emergency.
Despite all the excitement other members completed their rounds.
Results of the day: Extra Medal and Putting. Flo Coburn 102-29-73 and 32 putts, Mary McQuay 98-22-76 and 32 putts, Aileen Gribbon 100-23-77 and 32 putts, Shirley Cawley 125-48-77, Bobbie Oliver 104-27-77.
The competition for Tuesday, July 27 is LGU, Home Pennant and putting. Starters for the day are Mary McQuay and Lorraine Crofskey.
The weekend members have had a couple of relatively uneventful Saturdays.
Another round of Top Cat was played on July 10 with wins recorded to the combinations of Mandy Aish and Melissa Gordge, Ann Braithwaite and Vivian Todd, and Diana de Jong and Sheryl Stanners.
Only three players braved the elements on 17 July for the Helena and Doris Stableford. Scores were Jennifer Patterson 37 points, Jenny Oien 32, and Vivian Todd 31.
The competition for Saturday, July 24 is LGU and Putting combined with another round of Pembroke Trophy.
Our annual Mid-Winter Xmas luncheon for both Tuesday and Saturday members will be held on Saturday, July 31 at 1.30pm. Please bring a plate of fingerfood and a $5 gift. The weekend competition for that day is Top Cat. Tee off time is at the earlier time of 8.30am.
