FAST-PACED and full of crowd-pleasing contact, the wheelchair rugby demo day at the TET MultiSports Centre on Saturday was a huge success.
People packed the gallery to watch wheelchair athletes in action, and were treated to thrills, spills and talented players.
After the initial demo, spectators were given the chance to try it for themselves and see just how challenging the game can be.
The demo day was organised by Matthew Muller, who has been playing wheelchair rugby for the past three years.
He wanted to show what it took to play in the hopes that more people from Taranaki would get involved.
