Viva Las Vegas at SPCA

NO, it’s not a night of gambling animals, but it is a night of gambling fun for everyone human.
All are welcome to come along to a night of gambling and casino type entertainment at the Hawera Savage Club Hall, on Friday, May 14 for an SPCA Las Vegas Night.
There will be auctions held throughout the night starting at around 8.15pm.
Be in with a chance to win lots of awesome prizes in the auctions and also a raffle. These prizes include a microwave, an electric blanket, vouchers and lots more.
The SPCA will use the money raised to buy a heat pump; this will keep the poor abandoned and homeless animals warm.
The SPCA is mainly made up of volunteers like Lorraine Wells and Jan Arthur who willingly give up their time to help defenceless animals, so open up your heart, help the poor little animals and become an SPCA volunteer.
Having had a busy year, SPCA volunteer and animal lover, Lorraine says, “The SPCA gets no outside funding and will gladly accept any donations.
“The SPCA, as well as needing money, also needs volunteers.”
If you’re a busy person who doesn’t have time to volunteer, you can also adopt an animal.
“There are always animals in need of homes,” says Jan, also a long time volunteer.
“Most of the time the SPCA is so full the animals either have to be turned away or put down, so adopt one now.”
The SPCA Las Vegas Night starts at 7.30pm and runs until 10.30pm.
Tickets for this fabulous and fun event are $10 per person, $5 of which will go towards $50,000 of ‘funny money.’ More ‘funny money’ can be bought on the night and supper is provided.
If you want to pre-buy tickets for this night of fun, want to be a volunteer or want to inquire about adopting an animal, call the SPCA on 06 278 5605 and speak to office manager, Atholl Byers.
