Inglewood Primary has warned of a youth crime wave that has hit the Inglewood community over the last few weeks, asking that people be vigilant and lock everything.

Unable to go into details, Senior Constable Alistair Balsom, of the Inglewood police, says it is "timely to remind people to be aware and to keep their houses secure". He says residents should keep their front doors locked when in their back gardens, and secure all doors and windows when going out.

"If a youth or youths come to your door and ask to use the phone, the toilet, or any other excuse and you do not know them well, please do not let them in your house or business".

Inglewood Primary said in their newsletter to parents last month. Alistair says that the "small upsurge of crime in the Inglewood township" is being dealt with by police and is under control.
