Third McCleod Shield win for team | Taranaki Sport | Surfing, Rugby, Soccer, Football, Cricket in Taranaki

The Kaimata/Ratapiko rugby team have taken the McCleod Shield for the third year running.

The team were lucky enough to play this years shield final on the number 1 field at Yarrow Stadium as the curtain raiser for the Taranaki vs Canterbury NPC match.

The combined team is coached by Wayne Schreiber and Murray Nicholls and have had good results throughout the shield campaign, winning pool play and beating St Josephs' Opunake in the semi.

They tackled Ngaere in the final and downed them 39-24.

The team are grateful to their opposition and the Taranaki Rugby Football Union representatives who came out for coaching sessions.

Their contribution made them a success.
