Sport Stars of St Mary’s

THE efforts of the talented and triumphant of St Mary’s Diocesan School were once again acknowledged in a special sports assembly held last month.
The highly anticipated event took place at the school on Friday, October 30 and saw a number of the school’s sports stars picking up a variety of awards for the sporting efforts over this year’s seasons.
A highlight of the proceedings was an extremely motivational talk given by New Zealand Softball Black Sox champion, Bevan Martin. Bevan has recently retired from the premier level of the game, ending his playing career on a high with a gold medal from a recent World Series played in Christchurch.
The event itself was once again enormously successful and Janine Wilton-Daley, the school sports co-ordinator wishes to acknowledge the generous efforts of the School Sports Council. Their special commitment to quality sports organisation made the administration of sport activities and events especially enjoyable.
