Parade set to entertain crowd

New Plymouth Mayor, Harry Duynhoven, will be on one of the floats

Pat Julian, Inglewood Lions club publicity officer, says Saturday's Christmas parade is going to be as busy and exciting as last year's and he advises people to arrive early "to get a prime viewing spot".

The parade will start at midday at the Rata and Brown Street corner, proceeding along Rata to Matai then to Kelly and on to Cutfield down to Rata and then around a second time.

New Plymouth Mayor, Harry Duynhoven, will be on one of the floats, and there will be "not one, but two vintage fire-engines" Pat says. The engines will also be offering rides after the parade. Pat says there are already plenty of floats entered, but there is always room for more.
