SUMMER-Grace Oliver is on a roll to the National Gymsport Championships.

The 11-year-old from Stratford is one of four selected to represent Taranaki at the gymnastic championships this weekend September 26-October 1.

The nationals are held at Mystery Creek in Hamilton where Summer will compete against the countries best in her Level 5 section.

This is her first year competing at national level and Summer said she excited.

"I set myself a goal last year saying I would make nationals in 2008 and I did which is awesome. This has been a dream come true."

Summer qualified for the event by being placed in the top four in her level after achieving set qualifying marks at specified competitions throughout the year.

Summer's goal for the nationals is to place in the top 10, but just making the finals (the top 32 from 100s) is a great feat.

Summer currently trains at the Waitara Gymnastic Club and has been competing in gymnastic events since she was five-years-old.

She said she enjoys gymnastics because you get to learn lots of fancy tricks.
