NGAERE SCHOOL’S basketball and netball teams are not just champions, they’re champions of champions.
After recently winning their local Central Taranaki championships they went on to represent Central in the Taranaki Champion of Champions competitions, says principal Rich Anderson.
The netball team finished runners up to a well-drilled Inglewood Country side, however the basketball team went one step better and beat both the coastal and South representatives by over 50 points to claim the title.
The school’s rugby team is carry-over champion from the Taranaki Trophy and is so far unbeaten is this year’s competition and tracking towards another final.
The sports coordinator Mark Hill tributes a lot of the success to the teams’ dedicated parent coaches who give their time, energy and expertise.
