Neil Harper.
Talented young cricketer, Neil Harper, has had his skills recognised and has been chosen to play in an invitational under-16s team travelling to England in June.
Neil was picked on his previous seasons' performances for several teams, including the First XI at Stratford High School and the Stratford Seniors.
He is the only player selected from a Stratford secondary school, the rest of the team having been selected from New Plymouth Boys' High School and Francis Douglas Memorial College.
The trip to England is the realisation of dream for Neil who has been playing since he was five years old.
"I am really excited about getting to play this level of cricket. We are going to London to play club teams. I have played with the majority of the guys in the team before so it should work well together."
Getting himself to England is not going to be easy and Neil is now working two part-time jobs to try and fund the trip. "It is hard work but it will be really worth it when I go over."
