GREAT results for Junior Flyers.
MOUNTAIN Motors Flyers swim squad seven junior swimmers competed strongly at the National Junior Swimming championships over the weekend.
The champs are held in three regions Auckland, Wellington and Invercargill with all results sent to a central point to find the top New Zealand swimmers in the age groups.
Taranaki swimmers competed in Wellington.
The Flyers won 13 medals for Taranaki with 31 personal best times from 40 entries.
The Stratford Swimming Club ranked seventh on points from 60 clubs competing
The 12-year-old boys team of Cale Karanga, Ryan Cooper, Dylan Arlidge and Julian Weir won bronze in the 200m freestyle relay and placed fifth in the medley relay breaking the Taranaki record in both events.
The freestyle relay time was 2.01.01 lowering the time of 2.02.07 set at the Junior Champs in 2001 by Tim Doyle, Shane Hitchcock, Brady Corkill and Benjamin Smith.

Julian Weir - gold 100m backstroke and 50m backstroke, silver 50m freestyle, bronze 200m backstroke, 100m freestyle and 200m freestyle relay.
Cale Karanga - gold 100m freestyle, silver 200m freestyle, bronze 200m freestyle relay.
Ryan Cooper - silver 200m backstroke, bronze 200m freestyle relay
Mathew Anderson - gold 100m freestyle, bronze 100m and 200m backstroke, 50m freestyle.
Our recently turned 10-year-old girls Joellen Hughson How and Brittany Taylor competed well in their events ranked well within the region.
Julian Weir (13), Brock Wilson (15), Adrian Pittman (16), Sarah Cooper (15), will compete at the National Age Group Champs held in Wellington over five days from March3-7.
Cale Karanga, Ryan Cooper, Dylan Arlidge (all 12), Sophie Cooksley and Brooke Wells (both 13) will compete at the New Zealand Division Two Champs held in Rotorua March 18-21.
