Mixed season for Stratford’s cricketers

THE 2010 cricket season was a mixed season for the Stratford Cricket Club with some brilliant performances on the field and some regular functions being had in the clubrooms.
Of the four teams at the club only one team managed to make it to a final - the Stratford 3rd grade white team who again won both the South Taranaki 20/20 and one-day titles, as well as the Taranaki 20/20 and one-day titles, as they had done the previous year.
A highlight of the season was watching this team win the final on Pukekura Park for the Taranaki one-day title.
The Premier team had an up and down season, winning only four games throughout the season, but putting together a number of consistent performances to push teams. They had structured trainings and good numbers throughout the season.
The Senior team was largely made of Stratford High School students and had a tough season, not winning a game in this grade. It was a credit to this team as they stuck to the task and stayed enthusiastic throughout the year. It was great to see some of these young boys grow during the season and have some valuable time at the crease.
The fourth team at the club was the Stratford Red 3rd grade team. This team performed well throughout the season, narrowly missing out on a finals spot. It was fantastic to see this team grooming young players such as Jack Espin, who moved through to the Senior team performing creditably up the grade.
The final showdown of the season is always the prizegiving that occurs once all teams have finished.
This year the prizegiving was on the April 10, and was once again a success, with high numbers of players and their partners turning up to enjoy the night.

Over the past few seasons the club has grown with each season. For the club to continue to grow it is imperative we have the finances to meet the needs of both the club members and the community by offering top grade training facilities, such as the cricket nets that are open to the public seven days of the week, warm and tidy clubrooms for all to attend, and playing gear to promote high performance.
To assist with this funding we would like to offer the opportunity to various businesses to become either a major sponsor of the Stratford Cricket Club (something we have not had for some time) or a minor sponsor.
This funding will go towards reducing the subs for club members, upgrades of the facilities and the general cost of running a cricket club and having four teams.
The three levels of sponsorship are as follows and next to each is what we feel we can offer to the sponsor as part of our deal:
Gold Sponsorship:    $1000 – This will enable your business to have your advertising board on the front of the cricket club, your business logo on the playing shirts as well as on the wall in the clubrooms.
Silver Sponsorship: $500 – This will enable your business to have your business logo on the playing shirts as well as on the wall in the clubrooms.
Bronze Sponsorship: any donation $100 - $400. This will enable your business to have your business logo on the wall in the clubrooms.
If you see any other way that the cricket club could help promote your business we would be willing to hear all suggestions.
If you are interested in being a sponsor of the cricket club please contact Cameron Stone on 06 7654133 or 0274651908.
