Dillon Ryan of Eltham has a smile on his face. Dillon (18) has brought home a gold and silver medal from the Special 2009 Olympics at the NZ Summer Games in Palmerston North earlier this month.

Dillon, a student at Stratford High School, won a gold medal in the 50m backstroke and a silver in the 4x25m freestyle relay.

He also achieved a fourth in the 25m freestyle and a fifth in the 50m freestyle event. Dillon trains with Sue Stannard, coach of the Silver Jets, at the Stratford TSB Pool. Next year he will learn vocational studies at WITT.
