Lorraine Bevins and Pauline Cooksley

Stratford Tennis Club members, Pauline Cooksley and Lorraine Bevins both received life memberships on Monday for their dedication to the organisation.

Pauline joined the club in 1973 after moving to Stratford. She has been coaching juniors since 1986. After joining the committee in 1990 she took on the role of Junior Club Captain which she held for 12 years. Pauline also mowed and helped to maintain the grass court from 1993-2002. She is also involved in Midweek Ladies Tennis which she plays.

Lorraine has been involved in tennis for over 30 years. She spent her junior years at Toko before joining the Stratford Club in 1979 where she played A Grade and Soffe Cup tennis.

She has belonged to the club for most of the last 27 years and played competitively up until 1998. This is Lorraine's 15th year on committee and she spent 13 years as secretary/treasurer. Lorraine was also a Taranaki rep for the Under 16, and Under 19 junior tennis and B team.

Our club offers a range of tennis from learners to Soffe Cup. Last season our B2 Boys Red and C Girls teams won their sections. Also congratulations to our Taranaki Junior Rep players , Min Zimmerman, Kelsi Bevins, Michael Boland, Sam Brailsford and Tom Fergusson. New players are most welcome. Please phone Lorraine Bevins 762 7944.
