Keeping Stratford beautiful

IT’S that time of the year again to be tidy kiwis and roll up our sleeves to Keep New Zealand Beautiful!
The New World/Four Square National Clean Up Week will take place from the September 17-24 and the Stratford District Council is encouraging all schools, organisations and community groups in the Stratford District to keep Stratford beautiful and register for this years National Clean Up New Zealand Week.
Clean Up New Zealand Week has become one of the largest voluntary events in the region and growing community support has elevated environmental practice and awareness.
The council urges people to start thinking about areas in the Stratford District which they think might need a bit of a spruce up and get registered for a clean up event.
As a District proud of our parks and walkways and beautiful scenery this is the perfect opportunity to keep that pride alive.
To get involved this year contact Gemma Gibson on 06765 6099 or email ggibson@stratford.govt.nz. You can also go to www.nationalcleanupweek.knzb.org.nz and join the Stratford District Councils Clean up Event.
The council will provide people with all the resources needed.
Like past years the popular colouring in competition will be appearing in the Stratford Press as well. Pick up your local paper in the next few weeks to enter!
