Kaponga team net prestigious win

After weeks of training and outstanding performance throughout the Satellite competition, The Kaponga Year 7-8 netball team have come out of the Taranaki Championships victorious.

The team had to face the winners of the New Plymouth and the Hawera Satellite competitions to take the title, and proved why they have had such a great season in both games.

In the first game against Highlands Intermediate, the girls, despite nerves, showed dominance and won the game 23-19. They found their form in game two and white-washed the Hawera Intermediate team 30-13. Still in training, the team now looks forward to heading to Tauranga for the New Zealand Aims games. Although the majority of their team is made up of Year-7s, they will be pitting themselves against experienced Year-8 teams. They are also in the middle of Hurlsestone Shield games and are performing well in those and hope to make the September 13 final.

The Kaponga Primary School netball team are the new Taranaki champions.
