SPARC's Push Play Nation campaign for 2007 is underway and Sport Taranaki want YOU to get right behind it.
This years Push Play Nation campaign in Taranaki is all about promoting sustainable activity. "Instead of promoting short bursts of activity at a variety of events, we want people to get into the habit of doing something active most days of the week" says Jenny Gibson, Sport Taranaki's Health and Wellbeing Advisor.
Sport Taranaki has developed a Push Play Activity Chart so participants can monitor how much activity they do throughout October. "Getting individuals on a month long personal challenge will put good sustainable exercise habits in place so that being active becomes a priority in their life", says Jenny. "Also, we don't want people to hit the Stop button once we get to the end of November, and so will be available to offer support if needed".
In early November, after Push Play month is completed, participants are encouraged to send in their charts as well as their story on how they have become more active. In doing so, they will have a chance to win from a variety of prizes. "We want to hear from people who have made a huge lifestyle change in becoming active", says Jenny. "It's a big challenge for someone to go from doing no activity at all to walking three times a week, just as it is a big challenge for someone to go from walking three times a week to running four".
Whether you already lead an active lifestyle or need that extra push to get started, everyone can benefit from Push Play Nation. Whatever your situation is, get readyget setand get active for Push Play Nation.
