Paula Parore – in the finals of a major Perth competition.
AN ex-Stratford girl has made it to the finals in a major TV idol-based singing competition in Perth.
Paula Parore, a medical administration assistant, is now a top eight contestant in Perth Star!
Of the hundreds that auditioned she is now one of the final two singers in the Grand Final on May 15.
Paula performed a solo in March to make it into the top eight, after previous performances seeing her reach top 30, top 20, top 10 and top 9.
Paula’s performance of Pink’s ‘Who Knew’ wowed the judges and audience at the Subiaco Arts Centre on Thursday 11 March.
Paula now has to continue to perform solo to stay in the competition, which will see one contestant eliminated every week.
Paula said she was ecstatic about making it into the top eight and looks forward to expanding her vocal range in the solo competitions.
“I haven’t had any professional voice coaching so I was thrilled to even make it into the top 30,” she said.
Paula is no stranger singing, she also performs vocals in the Joondalup Health Campus band Side Effex.
“Being part of a band has definitely helped me in the competition by giving me confidence to perform in front of audiences,” she said.
Perth Star will air on West TV, the new Western Australian digital community TV station set to launch in March.
