Riders from the Central/Makahu branch of the Stratford Pony Club all performed exceptionally well at the Taranaki Area Pony Club teams dressage championships held at the Waverley Showgrounds on December 5.

Hayley Miller riding Watch it, Chester and Kelsey Espin riding Frivolo, competed in the junior individual championships and finished second and fourth respectively.

They were both chosen in the Taranaki Dressage Team, which will be competing at the NZPCA teams championships in Taupo on February 4 and 5.. The Central/Makahu team consisting of Hayley, Kelsey, Ellie Muller, Julia Albert, Claudia Muller and Laura Hutterd were placed second overall in the competition, just two points behind Okato, and were awarded the Maureen Drylie Cup for the best presented team on parade.

The branch also entered a second team whose riders, Jessie and Sarah Currie and Alex Coull, were presented with the Fairplay award.
