Arthur Christmas will be aired at Taumata Park thanks to a youth initiative.

Eltham young people are again on the move, this time organising a movie night at Taumata Park, Friday from 5pm to around 9.30pm.

The event, put together by a group of young people from ETown in partnership with Connex, is free for the whole community. "The aim of the night is to bring the community together to show we (the young people) care," says Connex's Stacey Foskett.

From 5pm there will be family and children's games, with the pre-show (movies showcasing what Etown has been doing in 2012) from 6pm and the family Christmas flick, Arthur Christmas, showing from around 7pm, followed by an appearance from Santa and the ETown hip hop dancers.

The Christmas tree in the park will be lit up at 9.30pm.

There will also be a giant bouncy slide, candy floss and face painting.

The skate park leadership group will be running a sausage sizzle and selling glow sticks throughout the night to fundraise for its skate park upgrade.
