Eltham reclaims soccer title | Taranaki Sport | Surfing, Rugby, Soccer, Football, Cricket in Taranaki

It has been another successful soccer season for Eltham, reclaiming the Division 1 League title last weekend in a heated game against Moturoa.

Fantastic defence and a well-timed goal, the only one of the match, meant the boys in green sealed the win, topping off an impressive succession of games, with 13 wins, 2 losses and a draw.

Despite winning the title they still had a few more games to battle.

Eltham faced Kaponga on Saturday in a decider that would determine Kaponga's standing on the table.

A win for Kaponga would secure second place in the league and with that in mind they came out firing.

Rain and determination were the obvious factors in the game, with both teams playing fiercely against each other, and the elements.

A jubilant Kaponga side claimed the match over the league champions, ensuring second place and a huge morale boost.
