Dynamic dinosaurs at SPS

SOME folk think geometry is simply about working out whether their triangles are equilateral or isosceles, but Room Six at Stratford Primary School know it’s so much more than that. Taking advantage of a break in the weather last Thursday, teacher Paul Elkerton rounded his maths class up, took them outside and upsized a picture of a T-Rex using only a large grid, some coloured chalk and this team of eager ‘mathletes.’ “It ended up being eight metres high, and over twelve metres long,” said Paul. “The children could fit in its mouth! It was certainly a fun way to learn.” (Photo: Paul Elkerton Photography)
