The Stratford Crash Rescue team put in the hard yards to ensure they were in top form before competing in two competitions held in Eltham last weekend.

The team used Aztec Metals as their training ground and once-a-week, they put themselves through the paces of rescuing a victim from a crash-scene.

Thanks to their practice, they came away overall winners of the Western Region competition and Dion Howells picked up an award for best team-leader.

Their tool team, Kelly McNabb and Nicola Evans, were declared the best at tool use, and Saphire Gooch was named second-best medic.

In the Region 2 competition, the team placed 2nd overall. Dion placed second in the team-leader competition and the team was awarded second place in the technical category.

Saphire placed 3rd as a medic.

The team now have nationals to look forward to and will continue to train weekly for the event.
