Chopper plus for Tarns trip
This group of exchange students from Inglewood High School ventured out in the Egmont National Park, trekking up the new upgraded Mangorei Track to the Pouakai Tarns and return with teacher Cameron Stone and mountain guide Ian McAlpine.
"They were fortunate to have great weather and awesome views," says Ian. One of the surprise moments on the trek, he says, was a helicopter parked up at the Pouakai Tarns.
