Childrens Day at the Stratford pool. Stratford mayor Neil Volzke, who rode his bike to the event, chats to some of the 380 young people who had fun at the pool on Sunday.
CHILDRENS day was celebrated in full force at the TSB Pool complex in Stratford on Sunday and over 380 children and parents made the most of the great weather.
A free sausage sizzle from Stratford District Council and More FM was welcomed after having a cool dip in the pool. Once dried off, kids eagerly lined up to have a go on the Finding Nemo bouncy castle kindly supplied by Plunket.
The day also involved the Mayoral Bike Challenge. Congratulations to the 100 Children’s Day participants that got on their bike for the event!
Everyone went in the draw to win something, with eight lucky participants taking home a prize.
The biggest prize was a brand new Avanti bicycle, which Dylan Tapatoru proudly claimed when his number was drawn.
A big thank you goes to Plunket, Avanti, More FM, Bike Wise and the TSB Pool Complex for making this day happen.
