Central/South takes out cup | Taranaki Sport | Surfing, Rugby, Soccer, Football, Cricket in Taranaki

THE PENNINGTON Cup is one of the highlights of primary grade hockey in Taranaki, and is the chance to be selected for regional representative teams.

The tournament, played over Queens Birthday weekend, is contested between Central/South and North teams in boys, girls and mixed competition.

After a series of games played at the Taranaki Turf in Stratford, the Girls Shield and the Thomas Cup were both won by Central/South.

Central/South were also named the overall Pennington Cup winners.

Thanks to their great performance over the weekend, the following children were selected to represent Taranaki Hockey in either boys or girls primary school A or B teams: Curtis Boyde, Timothy Neild, Ben Reardon, Thorne Mitchell-Smith, Caleb Cook, Shaun Lawrence, Malissa Alexander, Micah Hintz, Johanna Avery, Rhys Bishop, Ben Smith, Ashleigh Weir, Shaun Nager, Erin Rowe, Kieran Harrison, Jonathan Kuriger, Kim Thoms, Blair Uhlenberg, Jordan Hooper, Dylan Arlidge, Xavier Hey, Reece Saywell, Simon Terry, Lara Williams, Nikita Kolose-Webby, Rebecca Barr, Alan Hughes and Ben Foski.
