Catching a car a surprise for Damien | Taranaki News | Local News in Taranaki

Friday was a day of surprises for local man Damien Morresey when he learnt he had won a car through a promotion he didn't even know he had entered.

Damiens mother, Louise, entered her son into the Catch a Car competition which is run in conjunction with Paper Plus. One car a month was given away throughout the country and Damien was the lucky recipient of the 25th, and last car.

"I was a little bit overwhelmed and surprised when I found out I had won, but I am very glad I did. Mum put the entry in for me and I'm grateful she did," said Damien. Paper Plus owner Marguerite Hodgetts was happy one of the cars was given away in Stratford.

"Congratulations to Damien! We are thrilled to have one come to Stratford and it is nice to see it go to a local regular customer."

When asked by the Stratford Press where he first intended to drive his new car, Damien, with keys at the ready, promptly replied 'Malone's! To celebrate!
