Bringing together Taranaki’s finest

FRASER Watson, Nicola McKay, Corban Mitchel and Bruce Dempsey proudly holding the shield they were awarded along with groups from New Plymouth RDA group and Hawera RDA. On Sunday, April 25, the New Plymouth Riding for the Disabled (RDA) hosted the RDA Regional Games at the Hawera RDA grounds.
Riders from New Plymouth, Central Taranaki, Hawera and Wanganui attended on what turned out to be a very warm autumn day.
Central Taranaki RDA sent a team of four riders who really enjoyed the day, very ably riding their ponies, and competing in the games.
The shield for most points awarded was shared between New Plymouth, Central and Hawera, a three-way tie!
Central Taranaki RDA is held on their grounds at the Pioneer Village, Stratford every Thursday morning during term time from 9am-1pm.
“We would love to have more volunteers to help lead ponies or side-walk the children,” says RDA spokesperson, Sarah Collier
“Without volunteers we cannot give these children this wonderful experience mentally and physically, of riding a horse.”
Anyone interested in helping can phone Sarah on 764 7418.
