Good skills and teamwork were the contributing factors that helped the Kaponga Primary/St Joseph's Kaponga Year 8 Netball Team take out two prestigious trophies this season.
Despite being the first year the girls have played together as a team, the girls won the Stratford Satellite Competition after some hard-fought games against schools from the entire district, including Stratford Primary and St Joseph's Stratford. The talented team also won the Eraio Memorial Trophy which is played for every year by local schools such as Auroa, Matapu and Ngaere. Thanks to their success, the team was eligible for the Taranaki Year 8 Championships and the team battled it out over the weekend of September 9-10, and despite close games, only managed to take one win.
