Ashley selected for NZ Team | Taranaki Sport | Surfing, Rugby, Soccer, Football, Cricket in Taranaki

ASHLEY Rupapera (15) has been selected to represent New Zealand in the Age Group Trans Tasman Competition, where 26 swimmers will compete in Australia from the July 5-12.

Ashley will swim in her top events breaststroke, freestyle and medley.

The team will compete six times against the Australian Age Group Team.

The first two swim meets are in Woy Woy, Sydney, then two events in Wagga Wagga and the final two in Canberra.

Ashley will be joined by Taranaki swimmer, Dylan Dunlop Barrett (16), from the Aqua Blades Squad Bell Block.

Ashley is a Stratford Club swimmer from the Mountain Motors Flyers Swim Squad.

Taranaki record broken

Mountain Motors Squad member Cale Karanga (11) swam the100m Freestyle in a time of 1.05.04 at Palmerston North at the weekend breaking squad mate Kara McPherson's time set in 1996, of 1.05.48.
