Last Thursday Ian Deuart Manager of the TSB Pool Stratford, was presented with a Certificate of Appreciation from Swimming Taranaki.

The award was given because of the pool's ability to host many regional events to help promote swimming. Mark Johnston, president of Swimming Taranaki, said co-operation between the two groups was essential when running swimming events and said Ian and his team made every event run smoothly.

During the year the Stratford TSB Pool has hosted many events which brought both national and Commonwealth swimmers to coach Taranaki's leading swimmers. The 2006 winter championships, junior camp with Richard Sutton and Liz Van Welie, senior camp with Clive Power, regional assessment with Liz Van Welie and Robert Voss and 2006 breaststroke clinic with Clive Ruston were just some events held at the TSB Pool this year.

These events were open to talented swimmers from across Taranaki.

The TSB Pool would like to thank the Taranaki Electricity Trust which has made a huge contribution to swimming in Taranaki this year.
