THE TET Taranaki Masters’ Games once again proved to be a hit over the weekend, drawing hundreds of folk from all over the region to a variety of Central Taranaki locations.
For the 2010 event there were 28 sports on offer, including basketball, darts, football, golf, swimming, squash, mountain biking and tramping and the newly introduced event, dog agility and by all accounts, a great time was had by all – despite inclement weather on Sunday.
“We had plenty of options for people who wanted to compete in their chosen sport or try something new just for the fun of it,” said Masters Games chairman, Ann Moore.
“Sport Taranaki really enjoyed organising this event and seeing the variety of sports that are being offered,” Sport Taranaki CEO, Howie Tamati said.
This year over 900 competitors took part in all the different events, making it another bumper year for the Taranaki Electricity Trust sponsored event.
“It would be great if we can continue to add new sports each year and grow the event even further,” Howie said.
