ALWAYS Dreaming was the lucky winner of Race 1.
PERFECT summer weather greeted the 2000 plus crowd at the Stratford Racing Club annual race day.
Held at Te Kapua Park on New Year's Eve, the full race programme gave plenty of action and a few surprises.
Spot prizes, raffles and the Punters' Club were all well received by the public.
A highlight of the event was the mobility scooter race, a new initiative this year and it lived up to great expectations.
Kids were entertained with train rides, clowns, bouncy castles, mini ferris wheel rides and miniature ponies.
Local horse Heza Gangster trained by Gavin Sharrock in Stratford won the top prize of $30,000 in the feature race - the Cambridge Thoroughbred Sale Stratford Cup.
