John Woodward arrived in Stratford last Friday around 15:00 after biking from Nelson to raise funds to help find a cure for his son Blayke, who suffers from a as yet unidentified illness.
His 1000-kilometre trip ended in New Plymouth later the day. John says he had to fight a strong headwind in the
160-km stretch from Whanganui to New Plymouth and a strained Achilles added to the challenge.
''All in all it was an amazing week. We have been humbled by everyone's generosity and support.''
