Town buzzes with visitors and events

STRATFORD has been humming over the past week with a host of cultural and fun activities, entertaining visitors from overseas and around the North Island.
Visitors came from towns and cities called Stratford worldwide - from England, Connecticut, USA, Victoria, Australia  and Onterio and Price Edward Island, Canada for the annual Stratfords of the World Reunion.
Theatre, art, a banquet and a concert were put on for the guests, who left for home yesterday after having a ball.
Lions Club members from the central North Island came to attend the annual 202D area medieval convention on the weekend.
On Saturday the annual Baldrick’s Big Day Out market day was held and a large crowd enjoyed stalls of all kinds, competitions, music and medieval combat in Prospero Place.
Sunday was National Children’s Day, with a mayoral bike challenge and plenty of fun activities at the Stratford pool.
A half-day of Shakespearian games in costume was held at Stratford Primary School on Tuesday.
A positive buzz and beautiful weather has culminated in a up-beat feeling for Stratford.
